Sindhu Valley civilization is one of the oldest civilisations of the world. The Holy Vedas were composed on the bank of river Sindhu. Sindh Province had been the holy living place of saints. Mahatmas and Rishis. Sant Kanwarram Sahib was born on 13th April 1885 in Jarwarn village of District sukkur in Rohiri Division, with the blessingh of Sant Khotaram Sahib. Rohiri Division lies in Sindh Pradesh, which is famos for its civilization, refined culture and noble life- style. Sant Kanwarram’s Parents, sri Tara Chandra and Smt. Tirath bai were persons of modest nature, god fearing and devoted to the service of Sant- Mahatmas.
Sant Kanwarram was deeply attached towards Godhood and showed keen interest in Bhajan and Kirtan since his childhood. The great saint of sindh, well-versed in music Samarth Satguru Sant Shiromani Satram dass sahib, worthy son of khotaram Sahib was moved to listen to the melodious voice of child Kawarram. Taking him to be an apt disciple. Sant Satram dass taught him to recite songs, dance and music. On inspiration of his Guru, Sant Kawarram conveyed the message of devotion to God, truth (as divine virtue) observance of non-violence, universal brotherhood and communal harmony to the masses, during his whole life. He did it in his itinerary to far and wido places by his Satsang Programs and Kirtan assignments.
Though Sant Kanwarram was most devoted disciple to his Sat Guru Dev Sai Satram Dass but he did not succeed to the spiritual Guru Gaddi after his death. On the contrary he sincerely devoted 30 years in the service of Guru Darbar. He was MASIHA of humanity. He advocated the austenity and made all out efforts to pervade the sense of equality between high-ups and down trodden as well as the rich and the poor. His philanthropic and spiritual life worked as torch-bearer for the proper guidance of misguided people and cultivated the sense of welfare morality, and humanity.
Sant Kanwarram Sahib was an embodiment of renunciation and other divine virtues. Seer of the secret of life and ocean of piety as he was, he was MASIHA Of the poor, the helpless widows, mendicants and the cripple as well.
Instilled with the pain of sufferings of humanity was his preaching and speeches had great magic effect on the audience. They listened to his spell-bound. Preechings. His Bhanjans reposed solace to the listeners. The words Ishwar and Allah find place in his lyrics and Bhajans with equal reverence. With the result that, whereas Hindus were anxious to attend his Satsang, Muslims also participated with same zeal. Thus he exercised a great influence on both communities through his Bhanjans and Kirtan.
"Really he was Tansen of Sindh."
The Communal harmony cultivated by Sant Kanwarram through his Godly hymns and preachings was abominable to those who were intolerant and in considerable. They contrived a vicious plot to extinguish this gleam of light, which was showing the path of brotherhood to those indulged in capices and hatred.
At last the black day of history doomed. It was 1st Nov 1939 Sant Kanwarram with his party was waiting for train at RUK railway station. Maddened with bigottery two gun-men came, bowed before the Sant and begged for success in their mission. Omniscient Sant Kanwarram blessed them with their success. The train had hardly started when the guns started blazing, A bullet hit the Sant who was sitting at window side of the train. The worthy son and demagogue of Sindh proceeded for his heavenly abode saying ‘Hey Ram.’
Harbinger of humanity pioneer of super spiritual knowledge, man of epoch, and stronghold of communal hormany was no more in this world. He has left a great treasure of spiritualism for posterity.
Many a bow to Amar Shahid Sant Kanwarram, who sacrificed his life for the sake of humanity.
